Stand on the side of LOVE

This week was packed full of LOVE. I was in LA last week working on a few creative projects centered around the powerful message of love. One of the projects is the development of a documentary I am directing about civil rights and marriage equality for all. Our team consists of former NFL player and anti-bullying activist Sean James along with two young talented film makers, Alex Colby and Daniela Vesco. Our fearless hero is NFL legend Brendon Ayanbadejo, who in 2009 posted a selfie video promoting marriage equality for everyone. Brendon, a straight man, paved the way for gay professional athletes and others to be able to be open in sports. Before this video the only openly gay professional athletes were athletes who had already retired. Progress has since been made with openly gay player pioneers, Jason Collins and Michael Sam. Brendon's journey ever since has been one of spreading this message of equal rights for the LGBT community. He has already covered a lot of ground but there is so much more to do and there are many lives to save. Through this documentary we want to open a discussion and spread the message of equality and hopefully have the world join us by standing on the side of love!
